Spring Break

Every so often, we get a break from school. Sometimes we are able to use these breaks to visit family, go on a trip, or rest and relax. Other times we find ourselves picking up extra hours at work, trying to catch up on homework, or shuttling kids to and fro. In the latter case, it is not much of a break at all, is it?

There is a reason our schools give us breaks, employers offer leave time, and many religious traditions call for time to relax. Breaks keep us balanced, let us catch up on sleep or exercise, allow us time with friends and families, give us moments to reflect on what we are doing and where we are going, and so on and so on.

So yes, take a break from your coursework now and then. Take a break from your myriad commitments now and then. Down the road, a relaxed and healthier You will likely be a more productive, more energetic, more efficient, more successful, happier You.

There are as many different ways to relax as there are different people - reading a book, texting friends, going for a walk, getting a massage, and so on. The important thing is to take breaks now and then.

Each week, schedule time in your busy schedule to take a break.
